Mt. Carmel Festival: July 16th – 19th

Youngstown-Lowellville Rd. Storm sewer upgrade is completed.

Parsons Ave. sanitary sewer line replacement was bid June 12, 2025.

Riverfront Park – this project sold with W. Water Street.  The park work includes paving the road in the park, picnic tables, benches, lighting, cameras, playground, basketball/pickleball court, walkway and additional parking.  W. Water St. project will upgrade the road from McGill to the Riverfront Park, and add parking spaces.

Stavich Bike Tail Phase 1 – this work began June 9, 2025, and scheduled to be competed July 31, 2025.  The work begins at E. Liberty going west to Yo-Low Rd.  The detour is shown on the map above.

River Rd./McGaffney/Jackson is a roadway upgrade that includes guardrail replacement and curb upgrades.  This project will begin after the festival.

Siphon Replacement – this project will replace the original siphon for the Wastewater Treatment Plant – it is presently in the design phase.

Dominion Energy Replacing Lines

Beginning Monday June 24, 2024

The entire project is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 2024. The first phase will be along the Stavich Bike Trail – the bike trail will be closed from Park Ave. to Liberty Street, this phase is scheduled to be completed July 1, 2024.

Riverfront Park

Riverfront Park – currently a pavilion is being built, a parking lot, and sidewalk going to the park restrooms. This is in a location close to the canoe launch with a beautiful view of the River. This project is being funded by the Mahoning County Community Improvement Council, the Youngstown Foundation, and the Village of Lowellville. This is just the beginning, stay turned for more.

Stavich Bike Trail Phase 1

Phase 1 of the bile trail improvement is scheduled to sell April 2024. The work will consist of widening and resurfacing of the trail from Youngstown-Lowellville Rd. to West Liberty Street. The pedestrian bridge over Gray’s Run will be rehabilitated. This portion of the bike trail will be closed to the public during construction, for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days. The official detour for this closure will utilize Cooper Avenue, Youngstown- Lowellville Rd., Wood Street and McGill Street. For construction and detour updates see the Village webpage at – villageoflowellville.org. This project is being funded by the FHWA TAP funds and the Village of Lowellville. This is just the beginning, stay tuned for more.
